It’s an exciting time for our gorilla family - our youngest gorilla Kipenzi is growing up. Over the last few weeks keepers have been fortunate enough to see Kipenzi growing, not only in size, but in confidence.

Like Ord before him, Fitzroy, a member of our Sulphur-crested Cockatoo flock, is gearing up for something new at the Bird Show. With their yellow crests and raucous squawks, it is easy to see why these parrots are known as being loud and energetic, embodying the stereotypic concept of Aussie larrikin antics.

Taronga staff are very excited to have welcomed a new female Giraffe to the Sydney herd. Kitoto is a two-year-old that has grown up at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo.

Today, Kitoto the giraffe embarked on a big trip from Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo to Taronga Zoo in Sydney, her new home.
