Taronga Zoo today announced confirmation of its third elephant pregnancy. Pak Boon fell pregnant naturally to Taronga’s resident Bull elephant, Gung, with the calf due early 2011.

Two juvenile Giraffes at Taronga Western Plains Zoo will take a road trip to their new home in Victoria at Werribee Zoo today, Friday 1 May 2009. The pair, both males, will travel from Taronga Western Plains Zoo to Werribee in two specially designed transport crates, onboard a low loader over 850km south to their final destination.

Taronga Zoo is celebrating the breeding success with the arrival of two Yellow-bellied Glider joeys, the largest of Australia’s unique gliding possums.The Zoo’s Australian Mammals keepers found the twin Yellow-bellied Gliders nestled safely in their parent’s nesting hollow.
