Research Biologist, Marine Biology. In June 2008 he joined Taronga as a research biologist of marine mammals. His research interests include foraging ecology, population dynamics, diving physiology, energetics.

Veterinary Officer. Frances Hulst graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1983. She worked for a number of years, both in Australia and the UK.

Research Associate - Nutrition. Graham Faichney obtained his BAgrSc from Melbourne University. He went to Sydney University to obtain an MScAgr before returning to Melbourne University to study for his PhD.

Research Associate - Ecology. As an 11 year old, Grainne had the rare and privileged fortune to live in Tanzania for two years. While other kids her age were cheering on the Irish squad at the world cup, she was driving through the Serengeti.

Australian Registry of Wildlife Health – Information and Resources Coordinator. Jane worked as a Zookeeper in a small native fauna park before moving to Sydney in 2002 where she began work in a human pathology laboratory.

Manager, Life Sciences Operations. John West is currently the Manager of Life Sciences Operations at Taronga and Taronga Western Plains Zoos. He is the Curator of the Australian Shark Attack File.

Australian Wildlife Health Network, Administrative Assistant. Karen is the Administrative Assistant for the Australian Wildlife Health Network, and has been working at the Network for two years. Karen provides administrative and committee support.

Pathologist Veterinary Registrar. Karrie became interested in working with wildlife while conducting field research and population studies with Ferruginous Hawks and Burrowing Owls during university summer breaks.

Veterinary Officer. Kimberly came to Taronga Zoo after gaining over eight years of zoo medicine experience as a veterinarian at Gladys Porter Zoo in the South of Texas and Ocean Park aquarium in Hong Kong.

Senior Veterinarian. Dr Vogelnest has participated in and advised on both in situ and ex situ components of numerous conservation projects. He specialises in the health and reproductive management of small populations.

Behavioural Biologist Emeritus. With the appointment of the assistant Behavioural Biologist, Margaret has changed her focus to the writing up and publishing of collected data and the supervision of research projects.

With over 20 years of experience in many aspects of science and science management, Monique has joined Taronga and is currently acting as Manager, Research and Conservation, representing Taronga’s scientists and coordinating conservation activity.

Unit Supervisor - Herpetofauna. Michael began working at Taronga Zoo in January 2003, soon after completing his honours degree on endogenous seasonal cycles in the endangered Regent Honeyeater.

Collaborator - UNSW. Michaela spends long periods in Antarctica and has worked out of Jubany and Primavera Stations on the Western Antarctic Peninsula in collaboration with the Argentinean Antarctic Division.

Veterinary Officer. In November 2008 Michelle returned to Australia to take up the post of Veterinary Officer at Taronga Western Plains Zoo. She is an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine

Precinct Manager - Herpetofauna. For over 28 years Peter Harlow's career has involved a wide range of research projects in reptile ecology, physiology and conservation, based mostly at the University of Sydney.

Manager, Research and Conservation. In April of 2007, Rebecca joined the team at the Taronga Zoo as Manager of Research and Conservation Programs focusing the research of Zoo scientists on wildlife ecology, behaviour, reproduction and health.

Collaborator – Veterinary Medicine. Robert is a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (Feline Medicine) and holds a Certificate in Zoological Medicine from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Projects Coordinator – Australian Wildlife Health Network. Tiggy has been the Projects Coordinator for the Australian Wildlife Health Network since May 2009. As part of her role, she assists in collation of national wildlife health surveillance data.

Collaborator - UNSW. Tracey has worked at or with the Taronga Conservation Society Australia since 1998. As a researcher she is interested in biological thinking about behaviour.

Keeper – Australian Fauna. Following the completion of a science degree at Macquarie University in the late eighties, Wendy gained employment at Taronga as a Zoo keeper.

Horticulturalist and Bush Regenerator. For the past 20 years Wendy has worked restoring remnant vegetation in Sydney Sandstone plant community. For 13 of those years she has worked as a bush regenerator for Taronga Zoo.

Manager, Australian Wildlife Health Network. Rupert manages the Australian Wildlife Health Network. He has a Master's Degree, PhD and is a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists.

Jo Wiszniewski is interested in using genetic and behavioural techniques to answer questions in behavioural ecology and wildlife conservation.d

Vicky started working as a zoo keeper in the United Kingdom at the age of sixteen. It was there that her interest in animal behaviour and welfare was sparked.
