Australian Registry of Wildlife Health – Information and Resources Coordinator.
Jane Hall graduated from the University of New England in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Degree focusing on Zoology and Ecology and completed a thesis on the cognitive behaviour of the Common Marmoset. Jane worked as a Zookeeper in a small native fauna park before moving to Sydney in 2002 where she began work in a human pathology laboratory. In 2003 Jane began working with the Australian Registry of Wildlife Health as the Information and Resource Coordinator, where her role has continued to evolve along with the Registry itself. While working at the Registry, Jane also completed a Graduate Diploma in Biomedical Science from the University of New England (2007).
Jane’s role as Information and Resource Coordinator encompasses a variety of jobs including: assisting the pathologist; research and data accumulation for registry investigations; being the point of contact for existing and new organisations who submit cases and materials to the registry, maintaining the registry and disseminating case reports to submitting organisations; coordinating material sent to external labs for diagnostic work; assisting external parties with research tasks and enquiries; assisting the laboratory Registrar; maintaining the library of reference material, microscopic slides and paraffin blocks housed within the registry; and updating and maintaining the registry website.
