Born 1957

Gigi is a female Asian Elephant who arrived at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in January 2008 with Arna after retiring from the Stardust Circus.

Gigi settled into life at the Zoo very quickly, accepting the change of environment and new people caring for her quickly. Gigi always appears to be in some sort of mischief. She is very clever and loves to make sure everything around the enclosure is secure. 

Gigi is very enthusiastic about life and learning new behaviours. She learns very quickly, enjoys interaction, however can be a real fidget at times with a short attention span.

Gigi is a very vocal elephant constantly chatting away.
