I’m feeling really happy with the progress of the overweight kookaburra. Today I weighed her, and she has dropped another 2 grams!! This puts her at a weight of 478g, which means that I am close to releasing her!! I finally am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel for her rehabilitation. Her flight is improving daily, which is absolutely amazing! She has started manoeuvring really well, and negotiating twists and turns around branches. Although I'm still watching the calendar (to make sure she returns to her family in the right time period), I’m feeling really positive that she’ll make it back to the right weight in time for her release.
