Saturday 9 April is a celebration of mammoth proportions. Actually it’s an Elebration because Cuddles, the Zoo’s African Elephant, is turning 40! To celebrate, Taronga Western Plains Zoo is marking this occasion with some special activities at the African Elephant exhibit.
Visitors will have the opportunity to go on a behind the scenes tour guided by a Zoo volunteer to see where the Elephants sleep at night. There will also be colouring-in and activity sheets for the kids as well as a display of the amount of food an Elephant eats per day.
An opportunity to sing Happy Birthday to Cuddles the African Elephant as she receives an elephant style birthday surprise is also part of the celebration.
The Elebration will be between 10am – 2pm so come out to the Zoo and help us celebrate this momentous occasion!
