Many a Meerkat at the manor
Meerkat pups at three weeks old

Umi, the super mum has given birth to another litter of pups, with one male and one female, born on 15 December 2012.  This is the fifth litter for Umi who is a very experienced mother.

The two new arrivals spent the first couple of weeks in the den until their eyes opened and were strong enough to venture out into the exhibit with the rest of the troop.  The pups are now exploring their new surroundings whilst being cared for by the troop.  The older Meerkats take turns in looking after the new additions however, the mother and father remain the primary carers.

The pups can be seen out and about regularly across the day, but a great time to see them is the morning feed at 9:50am.
