The program is voluntary, unpaid and for school students in years 10, 11 and 12. The Work Experience student will spend time on various divisions within Taronga Western Plains Zoo.

One successful applicant per school will be assigned for one week's duration (Monday to Friday), excluding school and public holidays. Students and careers advisers are required to read the Work Experience Information document.

Students with special needs

Taronga Western Plains Zoo accepts students with special needs, as long as any necessary support is available and students are suitable for particular Zoo work areas.
