Book Week is celebrated each year to acknowledge the wonderful role that books and stories play in our lives. It showcases new and exciting Australian books and authors and highlights how important reading is. To celebrate 2013 Book Week, Taronga Western Plains Zoo has joined forces with Literature Live! to bring you exciting, educational workshops.
Aleesah and Zoo Education Officers will talk about books and animals. In various sessions, Aleesah will read her books Puggle’s Problem, Warambi and Fangs and explain the writing and illustration process. Zoo Education Officers will introduce some amazing animals including echidnas, possums, snakes and crocodiles plus many others. Face-to-face sessions offer hands-on opportunities for students. Questions allowed throughout. These workshops foster education and a love of animals and books. Perfect for celebrating Book Week!
The workshops are aimed at kinder to Year 4 students.
