Keeper for a Day is an amazing experience that takes you behind-the-scenes into the daily lives of our keepers and gives you a once in a lifetime opportunity to get really close to some of Taronga Zoo’s most popular animals.
As a Keeper for a Day, participants may be able to try their hand at tasks such as preparing food and devising enrichment activities, cleaning enclosures and feeding and meeting some of our animals. Each day is different and you never know what you'll end up doing! This program will take you to places not seen by the general public and show you a whole new side to Taronga!
As part of a small group of six or less people, you will be assigned to one of our experienced keepers, who will be your host for the day.
The day includes an “official” Keeper for a Day shirt, bag and morning tea.
Please be aware that while we do our best to make every second enjoyable for guest, schedules and activities are subject to change and no specific activities and/or animal encounters can be guaranteed.
Age: 18 years and over.
Unfortunately, this does mean that we are unable to accept any guests younger than 18 years old for this program but please take a look at our Junior or Cadet Keeper for a Day programs!
Time: The day runs from 8:30am - 2:00pm.
To get here you can catch a ferry from Circular Quay or the 247 bus from Wynyard station. Please check public transport timetables at www.131500.com.au for further information.
Alternatively, parking is available at the Zoo at the day-rate of $16.
There is a maximum of 6 guests for this program along with one of our experienced keepers who will be your host for the day.
$240 per person for Wednesday dates.
$280 per person for Saturday dates.
Zoo entry is included so guests are more than welcome to stay and wander the zoo until closing. All funds raised through Taronga’s activities and experiences contribute to Taronga’s operations and conservation endeavours.
