Join us for an exclusive Taronga Teachers Association Aboriginal Education Day 

Tuesday 30 September, 9.30am-3.30pm

School teachers are invited to join our dynamic professional learning workshop to gain valuable knowledge, information and resource ideas for integrating Aboriginal perspectives into teaching programs.

Our expert panel of education consultants will deliver:
• Essential knowledge and understandings and skills cross curriculum priority
• Essentials to developing and delivering an ‘Acknowledgement of Country’ for your school
• A teaching toolkit of resource and programming ideas
• Overview of ‘Eight Ways Of Learning’ - Aboriginal Pedagogy
• Taronga’s Aboriginal Walking Tour as an example of the Indigenous curriculum concept of Country and Place

The day will include:
• A practical teaching toolkit of resource and programming ideas
• Bush Tucker in the classroom, some practical ideas with a tasting opportunity!
• Overview Eight Ways of Learning Aboriginal Pedagogy
• Interactive presentations from DEC and CSO consultants
• Introduction to establishing a Bush Tucker garden in your school
• Taronga’s Aboriginal Walking Tour
• Essentials to developing and delivering an ‘Acknowledgement of Country’.
