I wanted to create a rhino design with some of the Javan fabric designs, but I also wanted to include an element of hope.

I felt that we must protect them and so have included a baby which will be painted on both sides of the rhino. I have chosen colours which will make the sculpture stand out and get attention.

Artist statement

Penny Lovelock is an artist/illustrator.
