I decided to represent this fragility in styling my rhino like a delicate piece of chinaware, creating a pattern that consists of animals and flora related to the origin of the rhino, depicted in the same manner as the artwork typically found on chinaware - teapots, teacups, etc.

Artist statement

Shannon is a qualified industrial designer having completed his BA in Industrial Design (with Honours) back in 2004, has since worked in the private consultant industry as well as the council (still current - City of Melbourne).

He has always enjoyed work where he can be creative and innovative and has recently rediscovered a passion for 'illustration, hoping to one day create and publish one or many childrens illustrated storybooks, in the not too distant future.
