Our female Sun Bear which is just about to turn three years old has really been busy.
Taronga Western Plains Zoo is celebrating the birth of three Meerkats pups which were born on Saturday 24 July 2011.
Taronga Zoo has welcomed a new Fennec Fox pair, with a female from Adelaide and male from Germany taking up residence in Sydney.
Tragically, Sumatran Tigers are on the brink of extinction with only 300 remaining in the wild, due to poaching, the illegal trade in tiger parts for traditional medicines and habitat loss. The carnivore keepers are again getting to normal with their animals in their exhibits. The two Snow Leopards, Sabu and Kamala, are the 5 year old offspring of Samarra, the breeding female which stayed in the usual exhibit during the work.
