Taronga Zoo’s renowned chimpanzee group continues to grow, with experienced mother, Lisa, giving birth to a healthy male baby this week.

Taronga Zoo’s baby chimpanzee was named ‘Sudi’ today, a Swahili name meaning “success” or “luck”.
Our baby chimp has a name! We welcome ‘Fumo’ to our chimpanzee community. As the weeks pass, he is growing steadily bigger and stronger and becoming increasingly familiar with the sights, sounds and smells of the Chimpanzee Sanctuary here at Taronga Zoo.
The past few weeks have seen Kuma’s newborn infant become steadily more familiar with life within the chimpanzee community here at Taronga Zoo.
The youngest of Taronga’s chimpanzees, Sule has a special spot for for all of the keepers that look after him.
