This week we said ‘see you later’ to our three remaining tigers, Jumilah, Kartika and Kembali as they headed off to their temporary home at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
We are about to enter a new and exciting phase of Taronga’s Centenary Development. This means we’re saying ‘see you later’ to our much-loved tiger group as we start construction on new tiger facilities.
Today is International Tiger Day – a day to not only celebrate this beautiful species, but also show you just how much wild tigers need your help!
Taronga’s Sumatran Tiger, Satu, has moved to Australia Zoo in Queensland this week, as part of the conservation breeding program for his critically endangered species.
Taronga Zoo volunteer Melissa Richards will be running the Great Ocean Road Half Marathon on 18 May to raise much-needed funds for the endangered Sumatran Tiger.
The hottest tickets in town are now on sale at Taronga Western Plains Zoo’s main entrance for Zoo Grooves on Saturday 2 October 2010 at 1:30pm during the October long weekend.
Zoo keepers have welcomed the arrival of two Sumatran Tigers who travelled from Victoria late last year to take up residency in Dubbo at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
