The Taronga Conservation Society Australia (TCSA) and the Public Service Association (PSA) signed the Dignity and Respect in the Workplace Charter on August 21, 2008
The Charter is the result of a joint initiative between the NSW Government, Unions NSW and WorkCover, and consultation with public sector agencies and unions. The aim of the Charter is to meet expectations and promote a workplace free of harassment and discrimination.
The Charter was signed by TCSA Director and Chief Executive, Guy Cooper; TCSA General Manager Human Resources, Bettina Sammut; and PSA Assistant General Secretary, Steve Turner.
Planning has begun to implement the Charter and begin a joint training initiative between the TCSA and PSA which will happen in near future.
"The signing of the Charter demonstrates our commitment to working together with the PSA to create a workplace that promotes dignity and respect, supports the TCSA‘s Code of Conduct and Values and its Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Free Workplace Policies," said Ms Sammut.
