Well, school is back and it was great catching up with some of my friends I hadn’t seen all holidays. How was your first few weeks back at school? I have some exciting news! Even though they were born during the holidays – Mum said I can finally tell you about some new babies at Taronga Zoo. Fennec Foxes are the smallest fox in the world and they come from the desert in Africa.

December 2012

Recently my Mum meet a girl called Kelly and her friends, who wanted to do something to help animals in the zoo and in the wild. They decided to fundraise in their school and adopt an animal and give a donation the Taronga Wildlife Hospital. Read the full story here.

Katydid what? Thought mum was talking about a girl named Katy at first but then she told me about a minibeast called a katydid! I’d actually seen lots of them before but thought they were grasshoppers! They hang out in leaves and grass sometimes, and they can be found all over Australia. I had to find out more! Have you ever moved house? I never have but I know some friends that have and they say it can be hard. Packing up all your stuff and moving to a new place can be scary! So when I heard from Mum that a new Sunbear had moved to Taronga I asked how she was doing. Mum said she was ok, and that she had settled in quite well. Do you love Dinosaurs? I do, but I don’t know a lot about them. So I was pretty curious when Mum said that this summer they were going to have dinosaurs at Taronga Zoo in Sydney! But they are extinct, right? Well – there are going to be some amazing things happening at the Zoo over the Christmas holidays and I thought you all might like to learn about them with me.
