Over the past two weeks Taronga Western Plains Zoo’s school holiday program, Zoo Adventures was brimming with eager children keen to learn about animals and the environment, and to participate in some games and art and craft sessions.
The east Australian Humpback whale migration has begun and Taronga’s Marine Mammal Department has been fortunate enough to get amongst it, thanks to an exciting new partnership with Captain Cook Cruises.
A fire broke out in a service building on the perimeter of Taronga Zoo overnight.
Fire Brigade crews attended and extinguished the fire before 3am.
No people or animals were injured in the fire.
Preliminary investigations have found no suspicious circumstances.
