
One of the biggest and most dangerous animal moves in Taronga’s history takes place. The Zoo’s community of 19 chimpanzees are moved from their temporary home to a fully refurbished sanctuary.

Transporting such an intelligent and powerful group of wild animals is no mean feat and special cameras worn by the keepers and veterinary staff give you an all-access pass to this meticulously planned event.
Led by alpha male, ‘Labutu’, Taronga’s chimpanzees are world renowned for behaving just as a wild group of Chimpanzees … but with a coalition of beta males waiting in the wings to overthrow Labutu, the transfer to the new home is fraught with complex political machinations.
