The African Lion can run up to 60km/hr and leap up to 12 metres. To conserve their energy, they often sleep up to 22 hours a day.
Weather
An overcast rainy day doesn't have to spoil your zoo visit. While we recommend checking weather reports before coming to the Zoo, umbrellas, ponchos, hats and sunscreen are available for purchase at our zooshops.
Don't forget that country New South Wales can be very hot during the summer and very cold in the winter. Winter night time temperatures can drop to below zero and summer days can reach as high as forty. You should plan your wardrobe accordingly.
