Rhino Inspiration

I wanted to illustrate the concept of a future without real rhinos along with the ramifications of poaching and other environmental factors. A place in the future where the only rhinos that exist, are robotic and made of artificial materials. This futuristic place is potentially non-fictional and the extinction of rhinos is a real threat unless we continue to help the rhinos through conservation projects and create awareness of their plight to avoid the fate of having Robots for Rhinos.

Artist statement

Joel Cameron is a self taught Sydney based artist with projects ranging from illustration to sculpture. Joel's technique and style is the unique practice of "Dimensional - Illustration" fusing illustrated styles with sculpture to create another dimension for an image to exist in. With a rising artist profile which has seen him be involved in a number of group exhibitions around Australia. Joel recently completed his debut solo exhibition "Balances" which explored the fragile balance of waking life and other worldly realms through a series of prints, paintings and sculpture.
