To celebrate the opening of our Bilby exhibit, Taronga is offering a special chance to adopt the Bilbies with a commemorative Bilby-doption.  The Bilby exhibit was officially opened by their Royal Highnessess, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during their recent visit to Australia. The exhibit is named in honour of their son Prince George.

During the visit Prince George met Taronga’s male Bilby, also named George.

By becoming a Zoo Parent of Taronga’s Bilbies with our special commemorative Bilby-doption package you will be doing your bit to help support Taronga’s Bilby breeding program. Bilbies were once found across 70% of the Australian mainland, but over the last 100 years the population has dramatically decreased. There may be less than 1000 of these tiny animals left in the wild, which is why Zoo-based breeding programs are so important.

A commemorative Bilby-doption also makes a great gift.

This special adoption pack includes;

  • A commemorative certificate celebrating the Royal visit and George the Bilby
  • A cuddly Bilby toy
  • One year’s subscription to the award winning Wild Life magazine
  • Zoo Parent bumper sticker
  • Monthly emails all about what's happening at our Zoos
  • Personalised adoption certificate
  • One FREE ticket to come and visit the Bilbies at Taronga Zoo
