White Rhino back on display
White Rhino

We are excited to see the White Rhinos back on display at Taronga Western Plains Zoo!

Taronga Western Plains Zoo has held Southern White Rhinoceros since 1980 and was the first Zoo to breed the species in Australasia and have continued to play a major role in the region’s breeding program with a total of 13 calves during this time!

Later this year, we will welcome Likwezi, who is currently residing at Werribee Zoo.

Likwezi was born at Taronga Western Plains Zoo and has spent much of her time at Werribee Zoo. She will be welcomed back to her home at Dubbo and join our resident female Mopani. These two will be on exhibit prior to the summer school holidays.
