Frog Week

Frog Week

NAIDOC Week at Taronga is an opportunity to celebrate the deep history, culture and achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Taronga proudly acknowledges the Cammeraigal and Wiradjuri peoples, their Country, spirit and traditions as customary owners of the country upon which both Zoos stand.

This year’s theme, Always Was, Always Will Be, invites all of us to embrace and talk about the true history of this Country – a history that dates back thousands of generations. It’s about reflecting, listening and learning from First Nations Peoples who have cared for this continent for over 65,000 years, the oldest continuing cultures on the planet.

Join us for a very special Taronga TV episode as we are introduced to Leslie McLeod, Indigenous Guest Experience Officer, as he chats with Reptile Keeper Em and explains the special connection he and his family share with the Southern Corroboree Frog.

After watching the video download the teacher resource packs for primary or secondary students a range of related engaging learning activities.
