Overview

This workshop is a unique experience at the Taronga Zoo Sydney site. Students will engage with Dreaming stories and cultural learnings while highlighting the strong connections between Aboriginal people and the natural world.

What's involved

This workshop is available at Taronga Zoo Sydney only and will be delivered in the Taronga Institute of Science & Learning Habitat Classrooms or the Backyard to Bush Amphitheatre. See below for further information.

At school

Before coming to the Zoo, identify and learn about the Aboriginal people from your local area. Explore the unique relationship that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have to the land.

Learn about the Cammeraigal people and their connection to land and animals. Discover the importance of totem animals and learn Aboriginal words for some of the plants and animals that you encounter during the workshop.This workshop is not available at Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo
