Study the Certificate III in Tourism at Taronga Zoo

- winner of Australia's major tourist attraction for the last two years!

This qualification is for people who want to have a career in the tourism industry and provides students with fundamental skills in tourism services, sales and operations.

In conjunction with completing the Certificate III in Tourism, students will work alongside Taronga’s Learning and Experience team to gain relevant skills in the fields of tourism education, interpretation and guiding.

On completion of this course participants will receive a Certificate III in Tourism. Employment opportunities may include:

  • Zoos, wildlife parks,theme parks (attractions attendant, retail assistance, guest services, discovery host)
  • Guiding (tour guide, specialist guide, activities coordinator, ranger)
  • Visitor Information Services (bookings, visitor information officer)
  • Tourism operations (customer service and reservations)

Course Information


Based on the Taronga Training Institute's current accredition, to study with us a student must be:

  • An Australian Citizen or a foreign national with Australian permanent residency or a New Zealand passport holder who has been resident in Australia for at least six months.
  • 16 years of age or older
