Is your school or council too far from Sydney to visit us? Are you or do you have a relationship with an Environmental Education Centre? Do you have a community sustainability initiative you think Taronga can support?
Sponsored by the NSW Department of Education and Communities, the Taronga Zoomobile has been specifically designed for groups that have difficulty coming to the Zoo. During a visit, the student audience will be able to meet, learn about and interact with native animals, encouraging them to take positive action in the conservation of our native wildlife. We can also attend community events and work in conjunction with your local areas environmental campaign.
The Zoomobile travels all over NSW, often working in conjunction with Department of Education Environmental Education Centres and Local Councils, with a collection of Australian native animals and each program is delivered by one of our qualified and experienced educators. Your students' and communities members’ curiosity about the natural world will be sparked, as they come nose to nose with some of our country's most stunning wildlife, such as a snake, possum, frog, echidna, lizard, and phasmid.
With programs available to suit Kindergarten through to Year 12, all students will benefit from a visit by the Zoomobile. Lessons will be delivered at the students' development level and programs can be tailored to all key learning areas.
Have a look at our Calender of planned regional visits and call the Zoomobile Coordinator to discuss options for your school or area.
