Taronga Conservation Society Australia is seeking Registrations of Interest (ROI) from organisations wishing to showcase examples of leading innovation in science, design & technology that could be built into future capital works projects at Taronga Zoo and Taronga Western Plains Zoo – with particular emphasis on Environmental Sustainability Design (ESD).

The product or innovation must be proven technology that supports the objectives of the Taronga’s vision to secure of shared future for wildlife and people.

We’re working tirelessly to achieve a shared future, helping threatened species to breed, protecting their genetic diversity and even re-introducing them to the wild. We’re striving to be a centre for conservation excellence and through our work we aim to inspire individuals and communities.
Taronga. For the Wild.

A new plan - A new horizon

There is now an exciting new opportunity to build a legacy for wildlife conservation for the next 100 years. Commencing in 2015/16, Taronga’s 10 year centenary capital program aims to build and renew our unique facilities across both our zoos, to create a new platform for tourism growth and enhance our impact on wildlife conservation. A range of projects at Taronga’s two sites and facilities will enhance the state’s most popular public attractions; continue to inspire communities to make a positive difference for the habitats and wildlife that depend on them; and renew and upgrade critical assets that support growth.

Taronga wishes to promote and support innovation within our community by ensuring that both our zoos and their facilities are used as a platform to educate and inspire our community for the wild. Taronga will endeavour to achieve this by showcasing and demonstrating examples of excellence and innovation in science, technology, design and construction that help support behaviour change as part of its Centenary Capital Program.   There is no intention at this stage, to carry out a formal shortlisting process after submission of ROI’s.  Taronga intends to use the information submitted through this ROI process to inform our current and future capital works project consultants as to the innovative products / services that are currently in the market, such that further investigations can be carried out where appropriate.
