Guest Experience Volunteers work throughout the Zoo providing information and interpretation about the Zoo and its animals to visitors.

Guest Experience Volunteers provide way finding support, recommendation giving, crowd control and feedback handling in a friendly and positive manner. Volunteers enrich the experience for our guests by interpreting our amazing animals, our conservation projects and our legacy species programs in engaging and relevant ways.
Is this right for me?
You need to enjoy working with people, be prepared to be part of a team, have a keen interest in animals and a willingness to learn. A decent level of fitness is required as you will be walking around the grounds on a regular basis. This volunteer role will have no direct animal contact.
Minimum commitment:12 months, once per week (negotiable).
Financial contribution: Successful applicants are required to pay a Volunteer Program fee of $104.00
NB: Volunteer positions are not guaranteed, if you are not currently a Zoo Friends member you will not be required to join until after you have sucessfully gained a position.
All Guest Experience volunteers are required to complete a range of training via in person sessions and eLearning units covering customer service, basic animal knowledge and Taronga's programs
