Jindabyne Central School (3)

In a township developed as part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme, nestled at the base of the Alpine region on the shores of a lake, Jindabyne Central School (K-12) offers a unique educational and community experience. Our students are focussed on achieving their potential across a wide breadth of Academic, Cultural, Environmental and Sporting opportunities that we provide.

Website:
www.jindabyne-c.schools.nsw.edu.au

Rhino Sculpture Name:

5 Minutes To Midnight

Rhino Inspiration:

Our theme is that midnight symbolises extinction for all species of rhino. Time has almost run out for rhinos and has already done so for some species, BUT there is still time to save them. The time has come to consider between conservation and extinction. All the clocks we painted are set at 5 minutes to midnight. We looked at Salvador Dali’s “The Persistence of Memory”. The background s drawn from colours of the Snowy Mountains endangered Corroboree Frog, which is being cared for in captivity as part of a breeding program here in Jindabyne.

Rhino Sculpture Location:

Bansktown Centre
