Lion Cub Facts

  • Lion cubs weigh approximately 1 – 2 kilograms at birth.

  • In the wild, cubs will stay hidden for 1-2 months before meeting the rest of the pride.

  • Cubs start eating solid foods at around three months old and start weaning from six months.

  • Lion cubs are fully grown by three to four years of age.

  • Mothers can give birth to up to six cubs at a time but litters of two or three are more common.
