Background

Brush Turkeys are increasingly being seen as a pest around suburban Sydney. The aim of this project is to gauge public perceptions around turkeys in general and study the basic behavioural profile of those Brush Turkeys within the zoo grounds. With the ultimate aim of determining whether there are any interventions/alterations we can make to the Brush Turkey’s environment to modify their behaviour and make them less impactful, whilst simultaneously changing public perceptions to be more positive towards their presence in general.
