Roar & Snore: More Information

Your overnight experience starts at the Roar & Snore meeting point, at the Main Entrance, just outside the Zoo car park at 6.15pm, where you will be greeted by your hosts.

Download the Roar and Snore fact sheet here.

Enjoy refreshments and nibbles at our beautiful harbour-side campsite, followed by an opportunity to get up-close with some of the Zoo's friendliest creatures.

After settling into your purpose-built tent, you will enjoy a gourmet buffet dinner before a walk through the Zoo on a one-and-a-half hour night safari – an opportunity to experience the zoo with only an intimate group of fellow Roar & Snore guests.

The Roar & Snore campsite at sunset

As a Roar & Snore camper, you will rise to the warbles, rumbles, squeaks, growls and roars of the animals greeting the day. Your wildlife adventure continues with a light breakfast before you are treated to two exclusive, behind-the-scenes experiences. You are also welcome to spend the next day exploring the Zoo during the daylight hours.

Roar & Snore is the ideal adventure for families, friends, social clubs or employee training groups. In addition to our regular program, we can offer our corporate clients access to rooms for training or lectures (additional hire fees apply).

For inclusions, what to bring and where to meet, please download the fact sheet at the bottom of this page.

Please note that children must be at least five years old to attend Roar & Snore. Roar & Snore is a non-smoking event.

Each of our tents has been purpose built for Taronga Zoo. They are connected to electricity and are equipped with a double bed and a single pop-up trundle bed. These beds are fully dressed with sheets, pillows and doonas, with additional blankets provided during colder weather.

There is room for an additional single bed. Maximum capacity is four people per tent (minimum two people per tent). All linen is provided.

An on-site amenity block houses bathrooms with showers and additional toilets.

Roar & Snore has disabled access facilities.
