Venue Hirers' Supplier Selection

As a public non-financial corporation owned by the NSW Government, Taronga complies with the NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework for the direct procurement of all goods and services.

It is noted that while goods and services purchased by hirers of Taronga facilities (e.g. wedding photography) are not subject to the NSW Government Procurement Policy Framework referenced above, there remains a requirement for Taronga to adhere to good governance
practices and for employees to observe Taronga’s Code of Conduct.

Therefore, with regards to third party suppliers, Taronga employees and representatives cannot make specific recommendations to hirers of Taronga’s facilities. Taronga’s employees and representatives may provide information to hirers regarding the requirements of the venue
and may develop a resource list of known suppliers which meet required criteria; to enable the hirer to make their choice of supplier and enter into a direct contract with that supplier.

We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Reconciliation Action Plan

In consultation with our Taronga Aboriginal Advisory Group Cammeraigal (TAAG) in Sydney, Community and Cultural Groups in Dubbo and our Indigenous staff, we have received support for Taronga to document the content of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), including actions and initiatives to support First Nations people, by having a Strategic Plan Pillar dedicated to Taronga’s Commitment to Country. This Pillar outlines Taronga’s commitments and initiatives to supporting First Nations communities in Sydney and Dubbo, as well as staff and students. The Pillar commits to and embeds a way of working that respects and includes Indigenous Peoples, Cultures and place. Taronga will continue to review and consult with the TAAG and Community on its commitments and initiatives.

eTenders

The Government Information Public Access Act 2009 (GIPA Act) requires government agencies to record and publish certain information about contracts with private sector bodies where the contract values is more than $150,000. The current register of contracts may be viewed on the NSW Government eTenders website.
