Tracker Riley Cycleway

From Dubbo, you can access the Zoo by bike or on foot using the Tracker Riley Cycleway.

The cycleway is part of a 13km loop which provides access to the Zoo from either side of the Macquarie River. It commences at the LH Ford Bridge over the Macquarie River and passes through Sir Roden Cutler Park on the way to Taronga Western Plains Zoo. The cycleway continues onto Dundullimal Homestead and crosses the river again, connecting with Macquarie Street.

If you're bringing your own bike or enjoy a walk, it's a lovely way to get to the Zoo from Dubbo along the banks of the Macquarie River and the picturesque outskirts of the city.

Travelling with a trailer or caravan?

We have a designated parking area inside the Zoo for trailers and caravans. Taronga Western Plains Zoo requests that trailers and caravans be parked here and not driven further into the zoo, in order to reduce congestion on the zoo circuit, as there is minimal long vehicle parking around the zoo loop.

There are lots of fun ways you can explore the zoo circuit, however for safety reasons scooters of any type are not able to be used inside the zoo - thankyou for understanding.
