Kids tell us the transport they like to take to Taronga Zoo

How will you get to the Zoo today? For kids and adults alike, planning the trip is all part of the fun. Here are two of our young visitors’ favourite ways to get to Taronga Zoo on Sydney public transport.

Ferry

Sally, eight years old, is visiting for the weekend and is staying in Sydney CBD hotel with her family. Sophie and her family walk down to Circular Quay to get on a ferry to Taronga Zoo. There are Ferries departing all the time, she gets her ticket and takes some photos of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge while she waits to board. She stands outside on the deck of the Ferry to sit in the sun and enjoy the quick 12 minute boat trip across the harbour, she keeps her eyes out for a sighting of seals. The Ferry to the Zoo takes you directly to the wharf at the lower zoo entrance and a day of fun at the best place on the harbour begins!

Bus

James, 4 years old, lives on the Northern Beaches. He gets on the B-Line bus with his mum and chooses an epic window seat on the top deck. He can’t wait to come down the steep hill and drive over the Spit Bridge, he feels like a flying superhero! When the Bus stops in Neutral Bay Junction James and his mum hop off and change to one of the regular buses that delivers them directly to the Zoo’s front gate. They have a Zoo Friends annual membership so they scan their cards as they enter and plan which favourite animals they want to revisit today, pausing for a sit down and a snack at the Seals For The Wild Presentation at 11:00 of course.

We hope you enjoyed following along James and Sally favourite journeys to the Zoo. There are many other ways to get here, for more detail on the transport and carparking options please see the Getting To Taronga Zoo.
