What’s in the works at Taronga Zoo Sydney
Wildlife Hospital
Coming late 2026
Taronga Zoo Sydney will soon be home to Australia’s first specialist wildlife veterinary teaching hospital, giving guests a glimpse into the remarkable work that typically takes place behind the scenes.
Guests will be able to witness wildlife treatment, surgeries and conservation breeding programs in action, creating powerful new opportunities for public engagement and education as the hospital becomes one of the first experiences encountered on arrival to Zoo.
The new Taronga Wildlife Hospital is funded through a $40.7 million NSW Government investment and $40 million in philanthropic support. Taronga is already the largest provider of wildlife veterinary services in NSW and a leading national training hub for specialists in native wildlife care.
Sky Safari

Taronga Zoo Sydney’s beloved Sky Safari is soaring back, reimagined as an unforgettable and inclusive experience for families and visitors of all abilities. First launched in 1987, the Sky Safari became a treasured part of the Taronga journey before retiring in 2023. Now, it’s being revitalised to offer even more breathtaking aerial views of the Zoo and Sydney Harbour, while making Taronga more accessible than ever.
