Why Taronga?

Taronga Conservation Society Australia is a NSW Government agency within the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.

Together, we take on meaningful projects and work towards our shared vision of a better and wilder future.  By joining our team, you’ll use your skills to support animals, nature, and the future of conservation - locally and globally.

Taronga provides comprehensive benefits, support, and training to help you grow professionally and personally - while working within a community committed to creating a better world.

Work at Taronga

There are many ways to be part of the Taronga team. You can join as an employee across a wide range of roles, from wildlife operations, conservation, guest experience to trades and professional services.

Taronga also has a strong volunteer community, offering opportunities at both Zoos and across a variety of programs that support animals, guests, and conservation.

For young people or school students our work experience or Youth at Taronga (YATZ) program provides a unique way to get involved, learn new skills, and contribute to wildlife and environmental projects.

Become a zookeeper
