Taronga Zoo would not dissect animals for public display.

Taronga’s first concern is always for the welfare and dignity of the remarkable animals in our care. We plan the breeding of our animals to ensure healthy populations and avoid overcrowding.

Taronga is committed to inspiring people about the value and wonder of wildlife, creating genuine connections that foster future conservationists.

Currently, 21% of all known mammals are threatened with extinction and African Lions are now classified as vulnerable, mainly due to habitat loss.
