Blender to benefit rescued wildlife
Taronga Wildlife Hospital will receive a new commercial grade blender and mixer to prepare food for rescued and rehabilitated wildlife.

Taronga Wildlife Hospital will receive a new commercial grade blender and mixer to prepare food for rescued and rehabilitated wildlife.
The Blixer 4, kindly donated by Robot-Coupe, will enable hospital staff to tube feed sick koalas, make fish gelatins for loggerhead turtles, and provide easier transitions from milk to solids for puggles and possums that wouldn’t otherwise be strong enough to be nursed back to health and released.
“I can’t tell you how wonderful this is for the animals at Taronga and for the wildlife rehabilitation that we do in the hospital,” said Taronga nutritionist, Michelle Shaw.
“I had a demo of the new blender and we ground up eucalyptus (leaves and branches), whole, frozen fish, squid and prawns, and dry pellets.”
