Cool treats for the animals
Following that crazy storms over the weekend, the weather has now started to warm up again with the sun out and temperatures over 30 degrees. Keepers have been treating the animals at the Zoo with some cool ice blocks to beat the warmer weather. The Ring-tailed Lemurs were very excited by a specially-made ice block which was full of some of their favourite foods including honey, raisins, apricots and banana pieces. These ice blocks are a common treat for the animals at the Zoo with even the Lions and Tigers enjoying a blood-cicle.Although the animals are well acclimatised to the warm weather, the ice blocks provide the animals with enrichment sparking their curiosity and encourage them to investigate and explore for their food.
