Matt – General Manager
Having recently being awarded a 2011 Churchill Fellowship to visit other wildlife organisations and Zoos around the world. I’m incredibly excited to have this opportunity which will help us to improve our world-class operation here in Dubbo and lead the way within the Australian Zoo industry
Over six weeks I will be visiting the USA, UK and Africa from March 2012 to learn more about specialist aspects of Zoo operations and how we can increase visitor participation and education though wildlife experiences.
During the trip, I will visit some of world’s most renowned Zoos across the three continents including San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and London Zoo, as well as visiting major Zoos in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Once back in Australia the aim will be to use this information and knowledge to assist with future planning for Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
