Kings of the Plains

Explore the Lion Pride Lands and come face to face with one of Africa’s most iconic predators. Watch the pride roam their expansive habitat with an uninterrupted outlook through floor to ceiling glass windows or across a water-filled moat. You can also experience a replica African Maasai village setting, complete with a walk-through Goat Kraal. 

Pride Lands Patrol

For an even closer encounter, climb aboard the Pride Lands Patrol truck and venture into the lions’ domain. This guided tour takes you right into the heart of the habitat, offering a unique opportunity to see the pride from a whole new perspective.

Lions can live to 20 – 25 years in a zoo environment 
Broad habitat tolerance - open woodlands and thick bush, scrub and grasslands, with some cover for hunting and denning
Male Lions can weigh from 150-260kg and females can weigh from 120-180 kg 
Buffalo, zebra, antelope and wildebeest
Lions can grow from 1 – 1.5m tall (males are almost 50% larger than females)
