We're working towards a positive future for wildlife and this means that sometimes there could be closures or works ongoing that may impact your experience. We understand there is never a good time to build a better Zoo, however the work we are investing in is to improve our animal habitats and deliver experiences that influence positive behaviour change to support the future of our wildlife.
Current works include the construction of a new $14M Wildlife Hospital. Work commenced in 2021 and will conclude late 2022. The hospital will highlight the Zoo's work in animal care, conservation and science in a publicly accessible precinct.
Work has also commenced on an $8M Platypus Conservation Centre, due to open mid 2023.
Both precincts are located at the end of the Zoo's 5km circuit.
