We're working towards a positive future for wildlife and this means that sometimes there could be closures or works ongoing that may impact your experience. We understand there is never a good time to build a better Zoo, however the work we are investing in is to improve our animal habitats and deliver experiences that influence positive behaviour change to support the future of our wildlife.

 

Closures

Taronga Western Plains Zoo has two Meerkat habitats. The savannah habitat, in the early part of the Zoo circuit, is temporarily closed however Meerkats can be viewed at the Waterhole habitat located halfway around the Zoo circuit.

 

We proudly Acknowledge the Cammeraigal (Taronga Zoo, Sydney) and Wiradjuri (Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo) people, their Country, spirit and traditions as customary owners of the lands upon which our Zoos stand.
