We're working towards a positive future for wildlife. We aim to continually improve our animal habitats and enhance the experience for our guests.
You might come across some construction work when you visit Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo, any upcoming disruptions are listed below. Most of our animals can be seen as usual.
- African Wild Dogs will not be on display until April 2020 due to construction taking place on this exhibit.
- The Black Rhino in the exhibit located near the shelter (map ref A18) will be off display from 13 Jan - 3 Feb due to construction. During this time a Black Rhino can be seen in the larger paddock just after the Meerkat exhibit on the Zoo circuit.
- Blackbuck are currently not on display near the Midway Kiosk but can be viewed at an exhibit further along to the Zoo circuit
- An area near the Midway Kiosk is undergoing redevelopment making way for a new cafe and water play area. Currently the exhibits either side of this construction area are closed and the current Midway Kiosk will be closed from 30 January 2020 onwards.
