About our photographers
Alison Lee Rubie
Alison Lee Rubie is an Australian photographer with a passion for capturing the beauty of nature to tell stories. While she also engages in portrait and family photography in Sydney, her heart remains devoted to capturing wildlife moments.
Alison's photographic journey began in 2013 with her initial adventure to South Africa. After a transformative trip, Alison has since travelled extensively through the African continent having the opportunity to photograph hundred's of different species including the critically endangered mountain gorillas and pangolins.
Now Alison shares her passion with others as an African safari photographic host, where she combines her expertise in photography with her love for adventure. She has led tours to the breathtaking landscapes of Botswana and Uganda, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to witness and photograph some of Africa's most majestic wildlife.
She has recently gained recognition for her work, being a finalist in 2023 for the cover of Crikey! Magazine and the Australian Photographer of the Year in the Black and White segment, and most recently, a finalist for the Mosman Photography Awards in 2024. Alison's aim is to utilise her photographic skills to not only capture stunning images but also raise awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation through her lens.
Scott Brown
Scott Brown always loved nature from a young age and emersed himself in it as much as possible. Scott's initial passion started from his grandfather who was a decorated Contemporary and Landscape photographer throughout Europe. As time progressed the more time Scott spent behind a viewfinder the more his passion for photography developed into less of a hobby and instead into a career.
Seeking that "Perfect shot", Scott travelled around the world with his camera to various wildlife hotspots such as Africa, South East Asia and Central America before returning back to Australia. He now assists Taronga Zoo's media team in capturing content for their social media as well as having his work used on signage and maps around the zoo. Scott has had his work featured in multiple art exhibition as well as used by multiple media outlets including news outlets , The Daily Telegraph and his photo "First moments" was even printed on the second page of the Herald Sun.
After teaching himself a lot of the basics Scott is now formalising his skills through the completion of a Diploma of Photography at the Photography Institute Australia. Scott is also currently a Trainer at the Taronga Training Institute teaching the next generation of zookeepers while also being a keeper in the Primate team at Taronga zoo.
