S5 E1: Lion Toothache
Lioness Maya has a fractured tooth that, if untreated, could lead to a serious abscess—a potentially life-threatening issue. Taking a 160-kilogram queen to the dentist is no small feat and requires careful planning and a courageous team. Will a bit of dental care restore the spirit of Taronga Zoo’s majestic monarch?
At the newly unveiled Nguwing Nura experience, also known as ‘Night Country,’ guests can meet a few surprise stars. Say hello to Stewart, the resident potoroo, and Matilda, a feisty platypus already testing the limits of her new enclosure.
And over at Taronga’s Seal Cove, Eve, a New Zealand fur seal pup, is diving into her swimming lessons. After a few wobbles, she’s now gliding through the water like a pro!
Air date: Wednesday 13 November at 7.30pm on Channel 9.
