Inspiring students and teachers through conservation‑led events year‑round.
Schools can get involved onsite at Taronga Zoo Sydney or Taronga Western Plains Zoo, or digitally from anywhere, with access to special guest speakers, in-field experts, and unique wildlife‑focused activities tailored to each event.
NAIDOC Week
Celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and knowledge.
Taronga honours NAIDOC Week each year with a dedicated education program created in collaboration with First Nations leaders and guest presenters. Students explore Country, culture and wildlife through digital workshops, storytelling, and activities aligned to the NAIDOC theme.

National Science Week
Hands‑on science experiences inspired by wildlife, research and conservation.
Taronga’s annual Science Week program invites students to dive into real‑world STEM learning. Through live sessions, Zoo‑based activities and interactive digital content, students discover how science drives wildlife conservation, from animal behaviour to sustainability, research and habitat protection.

STEM enrichment design competition
Design solutions that help wildlife thrive.
Each year, Taronga challenges students to apply STEM thinking to a real conservation problem through the Enrichment Design Competition. Students design, prototype and test enrichment items inspired by real Zoo habitats, encouraging creativity, problem‑solving and scientific thinking.
