The Oprah Winfrey Show’s 302 special guests were welcomed to
Australia last night at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo. Arriving by boat at the Taronga Zoo wharf, the group were whisked into the zoo
to be formally welcomed by the Minister for Tourism Jodi McKay and Zoo Director
Cameron Kerr. They were then treated to a special ‘Free Flight Birdshow’ and
delighted by the array of Australian birds demonstrating their dazzling flying
talents against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.The party then moved to a massive Australian-themed marquee
where they met and learned more about iconic Australian animals including
koalas, echidnas and quokkas.The eight-day trip, called "Oprah's Ultimate Australian
Adventure," began yesterday when the 302
fans flew into Sydney to sample the sights and unforgettable experiences that
Australia has to offer.The Sydney Opera House will transform into the Sydney
"Oprah" House for a special show recorded on December 14 before
12,000 Australian fans.Zoo Director, Cameron Kerr, said “We’re extremely proud to
welcome Oprah and her guests to Australia and so pleased that they could meet
and appreciate Australia’s unique and precious wildlife here at Taronga Zoo. “
